At the recent ISAC-sponsored Workshop on Flow Cytometry held in Cape Town, South Africa [11 - 13 APRIL 2017], it was proposed that a Pan Africa Cytometry Association (PACA) should be formed.
A Founding Executive Committee (FEC) was formed to drive this proposal forward. The tasks of the FEC are to:

  4. 3.1 Delegates who attended the Workshop, who indicated their wish to join
3.2 Colleagues recommended by Delegates as potential Members
3.3 Researchers in Institutes/Organisations identified by the FEC through networking and from the corporate sector

  5. Send out a Questionnaire, to the database contacts, requesting:
  6. 4.1 Approval of/amendments to 1. (A&P) and 2. (C&B)
4.2 Application for Membership, with details of qualifications, expertise, interest in applications of cytometry, etc.
4.3 Nominations of candidates for positions on the First Executive Committee

  7. Effect changes to the A&P and C&B as necessary

  8. Send out voting list of Nominees for the positions on the 1st Executive Committee (EC) to all who requested Membership

  9. Collate the results of the vote and inform the Members as to the composition of the 1st (2017/2018) Executive Committee (EC)

  10. Hand over the running of the PACA to the duly elected 1st EC
